Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Network & Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure for our clients. This role is critical for ensuring network reliability, security, and performance across multiple environments. You will work on configuring hardware, managing servers, troubleshooting issues, and supporting advanced networking solutions for SMBs and enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN networks, VPNs, VLANs, and wireless systems.
  • Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and network security appliances.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP.
  • Monitor network performance and perform proactive maintenance.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Document network configurations, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and assist with client onboarding projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years in network/system administration or engineering.
  • Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+ (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security principles.
  • Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Bitdefender or similar endpoint security solutions.
  • Knowledge of MSP tools like RMM platforms (e.g., Altera RMM).
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Salary Range:

  • NYC Market Average:
    • $85,000 – $110,000 annually (or $40–$55 per hour for contract roles).
    • Salary may vary based on certifications, experience, and specialization.
